Penetration Tester

Pen testers (ethical hackers) are hired to attack the company's own systems and find vulnerabilities before attackers do. They write reports the security team uses to prioritize fixes. Often work in-house at large companies or at security consultancies.

Probing an app for vulnerabilities, writing exploit proofs-of-concept, briefing engineering on findings, and writing the formal report.
