QA engineers (often called Quality Engineers) own testing strategy — manual exploratory testing, automated test suites, and the nasty edge cases nobody else thinks of. The modern QA role is mostly about building automation, not clicking buttons all day.

Writing automated tests for a new feature, reproducing a customer bug, running a regression suite before release, and reviewing test coverage.
