Technical PM (TPM)

Technical PMs (TPMs) work on deeply engineering-heavy products — infra, dev tools, data platforms, ML. They can hold their own in architecture reviews and often started as engineers. They're not writing prod code, but they understand the trade-offs at a level most PMs don't.

Architecture review, drafting a design doc, scoping a migration with engineering leads, and debating with a customer's engineering team about an API change.
