Sales Engineers (SEs, sometimes 'Solutions Consultants') ride shotgun with AEs on deals where the buyer has hard technical questions. They build custom demos, answer security questionnaires, design proof-of-concepts, and translate between 'what the buyer's engineering team is worried about' and 'what our product can do.'
Prepping a tailored demo, jumping on an API deep-dive, filling out a 200-question security doc, then debriefing with the AE on what to do next.
You like the technical depth of engineering but also enjoy talking to humans and closing deals.
